Most of the props we need are scientific equipment, such as the distillation set up, beaker, funnel, gloves, tweezers and scalpel which reveal the meticulous nature of the process of creating the poisonous berry mixture. Furthermore, the care that the man is taking through the use of these various pieces of equipment hints at the poisonous properties of the berries, as the man is taking a number of precautions to avoid coming in direct skin contact with them. Thus, tension is built as the audience wonders why this mixture is being created. We will borrow the props needed to create the distillation set up, as well as the beaker from the chemistry labs. The chopping board and pestle and mortar has been ordered from Amazon by Meadow. Since she is a day student, it will be most convenient for her to bring in this equipment.
To show the criminal nature of this activity, the woman will be tied to the chair and restricted using zip ties to tie her feet to the chair, and padded handcuffs so as to not leave any marks on the woman\s body. A wooden chair will be needed for her to sit on. Meadow will source this equipment.
We are yet to decide if the man will smoke a cigarette, but if he does, a stage cigarette will be sourced from the drama department and Meadow will order an ashtray. Lastly, the sequence opens with the man placing a vinyl in a record player. I will provide the record player, as my sister has one at home, and Meadow will bring in a vinyl that she already has at home.
